Microsoft’s update to Windows 11 is something that all of the Windows users have been waiting for a long. This version of Windows is said to be released in October 2021. Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella has already shared a glimpse of what can be expected in this new Windows version that is believed to be “The next generation of Windows” during his keynote presentation at this year’s developer conference.
Microsoft is set to announce this “new generation of Windows” on 24th June at 11 am ET. This event attended by Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft and Panos Panay, CPO of Microsoft. The actual release date for this version of Windows is not known yet. It is to note that Microsoft will only be able to release this version after beta testing it with Windows insiders before taking it to the market.
A glimpse into what could possibly be the exciting features of Windows 11
Before the global release of Windows 11, some of the images and videos have been leaked online. By looking at the images, “Windows 11 build 21996.1” was mentioned, hence it is believed to be genuine. Also, the images showed that the new Windows version will have a new start menu, home screen and has features that are almost like mac’s features. It is also said that Windows is adopting visual changes to keep up their competition with Google’s Chrome OS.
The start menu is expected to be one of the most exciting features for Windows users as it is being moved to the center from being placed on the left corner since Windows 95. Instead of living tiles feature, Windows 11 will show a long list of pinned and recently used applications. Apart from the start menu, the taskbar has also been centered while the search icon has been improvised.
There are new improved animations that give a brand new experience and look when opening, closing and minimizing applications. People can also now multitask on Windows using the “group” option by selecting the needed applications which will be remembered by Windows 11.
There are also other new and exciting features for sound, the display comes with a dark mode, apps are said to have rounded corners than sharp edges, ways to manage virtual desktops, news icons and widgets and many more. All these things are only the features that can be expected in Windows 11. As the release date is not yet announced, there may be changes when it comes to the market. On the 24th of June, we will finally be able to see what “The new generation of Windows” will look like.
